カナダでピアノ② RCM〜様々な時代のピースを手がける

カナダのピアノ教育システムはRoyal Conservatory of Music (RCM)という音楽学校のプログラムを使っている人がほとんどです。RCMは音楽専門の私立学校で、ピアノだけではなく、様々な楽器や声楽のコースもあります。レベル９以上は政府の提供する学資保険を使うこともできます。大半のピアノ教師はRCMのディプロマ(ARCT)保持者だと思います。レベル試験もRCMによって運営されています。RCM以外のシステムで指導している先生ももちろんいるのでしょうが、実際のところあまり聞いたことがありません。そのくらいRCMが幅を利かせているということです。

レベルが上がるにつれ、細かく時代を分けているので、練習する曲数も必然的に多くなるように組まれています。それぞれの時代から２〜３曲を練習し、全ての時代の曲を完成させると次のレベルに進めるようになっています。個人差はありますが、平均して一年に１レベル進んでいきます。レベル９を過ぎるとボリュームが多くなるので、１レベル終了するのに２〜３年かかるようです。

私もこのプログラムをお手本に練習メニューを作っています。まだ本格的にピアノを再開して半年ほどしか経っていませんが、今のところこのシステムが結構気に入っています。

2015年版ピアノシラバスにはそれぞれの時代ごとのピースのリストが載っているのでご参考までに。実にたくさんの曲が載っているので、次に取り組む曲を選ぶときの参考になります。
